Belgium
Belgium- we ported in Antwerp and got off the ship with no plans other than to eat Belgium waffles and eat Belgium chocolate. Nothing was open until ten so we probably should have planned. The Belgium waffles were like moms waffles, extra crispy, with a coat of crystallized sugar on top. And that’s just the waffles. They have toppings of all sorts. Needless to say I ate nothing but chocolate, waffles, and beer. We saw the big cathedral as well. All the churches and cathedrals are incredibly beautiful. Europeans are very passionate about their religions and, for example, if you are a Christian democrat you pay about 20% more in taxes. The cathedral had such amazing architecture and massive gold statues. Their representation of “God” or Jesus is quite scary.
But anyways I did some shopping and that night all if us went out to the night clubs.
The second day I went to the location of Tomorrowland. It’s one of the largest music festivals in the world and in the top ten on my bucketlist to go to when I get home. It was me and one other girl and we some how made our way out there to that small town and met so many neat people on the way. We met a guy that was on his way to an audition in which he needed to speak English and he walked an hour with us to practice his English. The town was called Boom and we were definitely the only tourists in town. It was so cute and small and the Tomorrowland location was so pretty and even though there was nothing happening there I was so glad to see it and we went down the legendary slide that was over 5 stories high. It was so scary but after going down we realized you gain no speed… We scooted all the way down. We are at a cute little cafe after words and everyone was so nice to us and a lady told us we could stay at her home if and when we do come back for Tomorrowland 🙂 then we headed off to Paris!
